The MLM business can be a dream or a nightmare.  The stat that no one really talks about is that 97% of MLM’ers life span is about 90 days and average weeks pay is 10$.  Pretty bad odds for the average MLM’er.

These odds are nothing new to the industry.  If you talk to 100 people in a day over the age of 50, over 50% will tell you that they have been involved in a MLM business at one time or another in their life.  If you ask those same people if they are still in the industry, 99% will tell you no.  Why is that?  Well, first of, the business is built around networking.  Networking’s foundation revolves around your circle of friends and influence, people you associate with and have known in passing.  You know, people in your cell phone phonebook or address book.  People think just because they know a bunch of people that somehow they are going to be able to convince those folks to join their business because of some promise of financial freedom or excusive product.  The fact is that all day every day people are exposed, over marketed and sold a dream of financial freedom or life changing opportunity.  Plus MLM is nothing new.  People have been hearing or participating in MLM for decades and with a retention rate of oh, about 1%, the odds of creating excitement in a prospect with your MLM is not that great.   Usually after people run through their warm market (friends, family and acquaintances) and have very little success, they quit.  Plus, people may know how to “network”, but most don’t have the first clue about “marketing”.

The folks who have had a little more determination to find a solution to this lead poverty and failing strategies, have had to find alternative methods to market.  Since the invention of the internet, marketing has become the most popular thing online.  Just observe.  Almost every site you go to has some sort of advertising on it.  So why not take advantage of this platform.  It can be a tricky place to navigate without a system to guide you.  Online, you compete with other hungry entrepreneurs, traffic generation, content exposure, ect.  But just like anything, with the proper tools and guidance, anyone can do it.  Even the person with very little computer skills.  I have personally witnessed people go from close to quitting their MLM business, to unimagined success in short period of time marketing online.

Now there are people out there that are marketing certain products and trainings that will tell you that after reading a book or taking a training course you will experience overnight success marketing online.  This is all false and far from the truth.  Those who are successful online are constantly educating themselves and searching for ways to improve their conversion rates and drive more traffic to their content.

The folks I have witnessed have the most success online are those who involve themselves with a marketing system.  One complete with capture pages, e-mail auto responder lists and the ability to network with other people that are succeeding online.  Plus the ability within the system to be an affiliate with network marketing products and the system itself.  This simply means the ability to make money in the MLM industry outside if your primary business.   Most would never even consider this as an option, but people are making life changing income integrating their primary with a generic marketing system.  Generic meaning you can market it to the other 97% of network marketers in the world that are struggling just like you are!
